Colloquium
Time: 15:30
Speaker: Mahir Can (Tulane University) Title: "Orbits of a solvable group" Room: MC 108 Abstract: Our purpose in this general audience talk is twofold. First is to explain why solvable groups are quite necessary for studying geometry and representation theory. Second is to report on some recent progress of ours on the combinatorics of the orbits of a solvable subgroup of SL(n) acting on certain symmetric spaces and on their compactifications. |
